Good for you Obama

HEADLINE - "Obama's Rev. Warren Inaugural Pick Sparks Gay Fury
The president-elect's selection of Rev. Rick Warren draws fierce responses from gay and liberal groups."(foxnews.com)

I'm sure that I won't say this much in the next four years but I am happy to say, "Good job Obama!" What a wonderful pick for inauguration day. A real man of God has the opportunity to speak to and pray with millions. This is just what our country needs. I didn't plan on paying much attention to Obama's coronation but I have to watch now.

Secondly, what the heck does Obama's inauguration have to do with gay rights? NOTHING! The apparent "outrage" against Rick Warren is because he supported the California amendment against gay marriage. So what, so did over seven million California voters. This just shows the idiotic hypersensitivity of the extreme left. People do not agree with you - GET OVER IT!

I LOVE NY

My recent trip to New York City has reinvigorated my love for my country. It only takes one look at the NYC skyline to appreciate free market capitalism. Those tall buildings do not represent "evil corporations" they represent hard working Americans that have created a product or service that others enjoy. They represent jobs, dreams, and economic national security.

I went to see the statue of liberty for the first time. If you haven't been I highly recommend it. I have seen that statue in books, magazines, ads, movies, and commercials like I am sure you have. The only problem is that there are no images that do justice to the real thing. Standing at the base of the statue creates a surge of patriotism. You can only think to yourself, God Bless America, and be proud of your country. It also provides a great view of the city and an enjoyable ferry ride.

Now I must address the bad luck I bring to all NY sports. Last December I traveled to NY and watched the Giants play (they lost). I then went to the garden and watched the Knicks play (they lost). I hoped that this year would be different but I was wrong. I saw the Giants again (they lost) and then I went back to the garden and watched the Rangers (they lost). I love my teams but they always succumb to my presence.

Plaxico Burress

Imagine this......You catch the game winning pass to win the Super Bowl. You are beloved by millions. Your team is 10-1 and you are poised to make another run at the Super Bowl.

A prudent person would consider this a strong incentive NOT TO BE STUPID. So Plaxico manages to accidentally shoot himself in the leg at a club in Manhattan. As of today he has been arrested, suspended, and is out for the rest of the season. It is an understatement to say that I am angry. It is disturbing that the G-men are now without their best receiver, however, there is also an additional and even more disturbing issue here.

Why did Plaxico carry a gun when he went out? I understand that a rich celebrity needs to be safe when going out, but did he have any business carrying a gun? I don't know Plaxico, but I assume that he (any many ignorant others) put a gun on like a piece of jewelry. It's all for show and not carried for an honorable purpose. These people should not be carrying firearms, they are a danger to themselves (obviously) and to others. I love and will defend the second amendment, but for the corporate safety of everyone........PLEASE DON'T CARRY A FIREARM UNLESS YOU KNOW HOW AND WHEN TO USE IT!

Baby Gordito

In an attempt not to have a bleak and dismal blog, I submit to you my joy. This is Sammy D (aka- Dito Dito Baby Gordito). He is the pinnacle of life. This is a pic of him on his first Halloween. Sammy's interests include but are not limited to: dancing, being naked, sleeping, swimming, talking, cheering on the G-men, and of course managing to find every single breakable item in my house.

FIRE!

Occasionally I will rant on things apolitical. Today's subject is the ridiculous news media (which is of course, not entirely apolitical). The exploiters of human suffering continue to amuse me. Apparently the news worthy story of the day is wildfires in California. WHO CARES! Really? Fire? Is that breaking news? Only if it's my house on fire would it be news. I hate to break it to them but fire is really not news, definitely not breaking news. Fire has been around since man first inhabited the earth. Many people own FIREplaces, candles, and lighters. Its not like we have not seen fire before. Yes it creates damage, but it's nothing new. The 24 hour news, youtube generation is desensitized anyways and doesn't care about a stupid fire. I can only laugh when fires necessitate hours of news coverage.

government bailouts

All of this government intervention in the economy is stimulating my libertarian reflex. I unenthusiastically supported the large bailout package after hearing the president's comments on the issue. I certainly do not have any extensive knowledge in this area and simply trusted the judgement of our president. Now I hear the call for more bailouts. NO! Government intervention is not efficient or effective for the most part. Additionally, there is no incentive to manage a responsible business if government bailouts are available when you screw up. It is time to let the free market correct itself. NO MORE

Post Election

I agree with about 5% of Obama's policies BUT I will not be like the left. I will not hate the president of the United States for 4 or maybe 8 years because of pure spite. I love my country and I respect the office of the president. Obama is an inexpiriencd political ameture who simply got millions of uninformed americans to drink his super sugary Kool-aid because he can be articulate when he is staring at a teleprompter. BUT he has been elected and I want this country to continue to be the greatest country in the world. I will support the president and will not tear him down at every chance like those who tried to deamonize president Bush. When Obama works toward advancing my political values I will support him, eventhough I rarely expect this to happen. When Obama works toward advancing destructive or ignorant policies for this counrty, I will be the voice of repectful opposition.

Enjoy my hubris
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
