Good for you Obama

HEADLINE - "Obama's Rev. Warren Inaugural Pick Sparks Gay Fury
The president-elect's selection of Rev. Rick Warren draws fierce responses from gay and liberal groups."(foxnews.com)

I'm sure that I won't say this much in the next four years but I am happy to say, "Good job Obama!" What a wonderful pick for inauguration day. A real man of God has the opportunity to speak to and pray with millions. This is just what our country needs. I didn't plan on paying much attention to Obama's coronation but I have to watch now.

Secondly, what the heck does Obama's inauguration have to do with gay rights? NOTHING! The apparent "outrage" against Rick Warren is because he supported the California amendment against gay marriage. So what, so did over seven million California voters. This just shows the idiotic hypersensitivity of the extreme left. People do not agree with you - GET OVER IT!

I LOVE NY

My recent trip to New York City has reinvigorated my love for my country. It only takes one look at the NYC skyline to appreciate free market capitalism. Those tall buildings do not represent "evil corporations" they represent hard working Americans that have created a product or service that others enjoy. They represent jobs, dreams, and economic national security.

I went to see the statue of liberty for the first time. If you haven't been I highly recommend it. I have seen that statue in books, magazines, ads, movies, and commercials like I am sure you have. The only problem is that there are no images that do justice to the real thing. Standing at the base of the statue creates a surge of patriotism. You can only think to yourself, God Bless America, and be proud of your country. It also provides a great view of the city and an enjoyable ferry ride.

Now I must address the bad luck I bring to all NY sports. Last December I traveled to NY and watched the Giants play (they lost). I then went to the garden and watched the Knicks play (they lost). I hoped that this year would be different but I was wrong. I saw the Giants again (they lost) and then I went back to the garden and watched the Rangers (they lost). I love my teams but they always succumb to my presence.

Plaxico Burress

Imagine this......You catch the game winning pass to win the Super Bowl. You are beloved by millions. Your team is 10-1 and you are poised to make another run at the Super Bowl.

A prudent person would consider this a strong incentive NOT TO BE STUPID. So Plaxico manages to accidentally shoot himself in the leg at a club in Manhattan. As of today he has been arrested, suspended, and is out for the rest of the season. It is an understatement to say that I am angry. It is disturbing that the G-men are now without their best receiver, however, there is also an additional and even more disturbing issue here.

Why did Plaxico carry a gun when he went out? I understand that a rich celebrity needs to be safe when going out, but did he have any business carrying a gun? I don't know Plaxico, but I assume that he (any many ignorant others) put a gun on like a piece of jewelry. It's all for show and not carried for an honorable purpose. These people should not be carrying firearms, they are a danger to themselves (obviously) and to others. I love and will defend the second amendment, but for the corporate safety of everyone........PLEASE DON'T CARRY A FIREARM UNLESS YOU KNOW HOW AND WHEN TO USE IT!
